Episode 15 - An Informal Book Club with Pollyanna Nihilism

So we find out what kind of books Jill and Gina have read and shared.  Okay, that Jill has shared and Gina has, as of yet, failed to read because she's awful. 

You might come out with some cool book recommendations from this episode.  Or a list of books to avoid, cause you gotta be you and not everyone is into Scandanavian redemptive thrillers or Sci Fi female empowerment.  You do you!

The Manuscript

We’re looking for things that we can make with booze we already have. And of course Angel’s Envy Rye is our favorite so let’s use that as much as possible, eh? And champagne, let’s not forget to always use champagne if we can. Don't tell Gina this part though, but the real reason I picked this drink is because I wanted to learn how to flame an orange twist ever since I saw Reese Witherspoon do it on some TV commercial a few years back. So now I can do it too. The (semi)proof is on our Facebook Page! I’m such a badass.

Ingredients-

• 1 1/2 oz Rye whiskey

• 3/4 oz Cherry brandy (which is clear by the way!?!)

• 1/2 oz Fresh lemon juice

• 1/2 oz Simple Syrup

• 1 oz Chilled Champagne

• Orange twist, flamed

Instructions-

Shake the first four ingredients with ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Top with champagne. Flame an orange twist and add. Feel fancy.
